Fwd: The Countdown Begins...

Work just ended for me (Teresa) which means that it's time to start
packing and thinking about the move. I'm excited about going to the
Dominican Republic, but thinking about it, the packing, and the travel
makes me a little anxious. We leave in a little over 3 weeks. We'll be
gone for one of those weeks- going to Brent and Sara's wedding. :) Of
other interest, Daniel and I went to a concert- Shine Fest- on Sunday
(it was his birthday present). Many bands played, but the ones of note
were Audio Adrenaline and Newboys. We had a great time and ate good food.
That's about it for now. :)

I finally figured out how to post via email, which means I will hopefully be able to post more often and stay more up-to-date. When we're in the D.R. we can post pictures, etc. :) Today we went on a "shopping spree" to stock up on items we'll need in the D.R. We also bought teaching supplies which I think are fun. :) hehe. Okay, that's all for now!

Daniel Enters the Blogscape

Well, this is my (Daniel's) first blog entry ever, and I'm still not quite sure what to write, so here goes.
This week has been a very unusual week for me... just about everything logistical was "normal," but God made it pretty extraordinary. It's been absolutely incredible over the past few weeks to see Teresa really blossoming in faith and radiating Christ's love in ways I've never seen. It has truly filled me with joy to see her full of joy and passion and love, but, somehow, at the same time I was definitely growing hard-hearted. This came to a point on Thursday when a variety of things convicted me of this and broke me. Teresa spent a long time Thursday night just holding me and praying for me, and that was wonderfully encouraging and uplifting. At one point she was praying about 1Cor13:13 -"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." Those words have stuck in my mind since, along with Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things." It's just amazing the difference when I do focus on those things and remember that in the end, what really matters and are truly lasting are faith, hope, and love, I really do know joy in a way I'm not sure I ever have before. Thanks be to God! May His joy rest soundly in you all!

Yay for backpacking!

This past Friday evening we drove down to Indy to go to Trader Joe's and Dick's sporting goods store. We bought food for our backpacking trip, as well as other important gear. I (Teresa) got my first pair of hiking shoes which I am painfully trying to break-in. (Wearing shoes for long periods of time is no fun!) Anyway, we will be going down to the Smokey's during spring break for our "second honeymoon" (since the first one was only 3 days long). We will backpack around near the border of Tennesse and North Carolina for 5.5 days and then spend 2.5 days at a nearby cabin. I'm very excited. I love being outdoors and I enjoy working hard physically. The trip will be a good challenge. So, that's what we've been getting ready for.
Besides that, we've been living life as "normal" (whatever that means). We get to spend tons of time together, but I have a hard time brining myself to do any homework. I'd much rather cook, hang out with Daniel, even clean the house, than do homework. Daniel keeps me at it, though, and ends up doing a lot of the house work so I can get homework done. If it weren't for him, I don't think I'd get anything done...

One month anniversary!

Yay! Daniel and I are celebrating our one month anniversary today. (We can't celebrate it on the 29th, cause there is no 29th. :( ) We ate at Thai Smile 2 in Muncie. It was yummy. :) Anyway, I'd just like to say that I am so thankful for Daniel. He is a blessing and a joy. I am so proud of my wonderful husband. :)

And so it begins...

Hello friends! We have created this blog in the hopes that it will keep you all updated on our life. We're hoping that between the two of us we'll be able to keep up with it. Maybe. :) We'll try our best. If you send us lots of comments, we'll be more willing to blog.
So far, our first month has been fun. :) We've made our apartment look pretty and have enjoyed cooking lots of nummy food. Teresa is currently finishing her last semester at Taylor. Yay! Luckily, her load is light. Daniel has been teaching a physics class at a private school on Tuesdays and Thursdays and has been substitute teaching on MWFs. God's been teaching us both a lot about Him, each other, and ourselves.
